With Unty's first release of 2022, we’re excited to finally launch Unty's collaboration with Shabjdeed. Almost a year ago, we started working with him on this project. It was initially intended to be embroidered in Palestine, we managed to get all the pieces cut and sent there, however its timing made it difficult to get the work done and logistically impossible to have it sent back to Cairo. Months later, with the arrival of Shabjdeed in Cairo, we connected and decided to go ahead with it here. The design process was pretty smooth. The collaboration is inspired by Evangelion, a Japanese anime series that aired from 1995 to 1996, a personal favorite of Shabjdeed. The Japanese logo required minor tweaking to read his name in Arabic, it was almost too perfect. The back features a line from an unreleased track by Shabjdeed and AlNather that premiered with the video that we launched for the collaboration.
